UPDATE: 7-day JR pass in 2025 now costs about $320 USD (the estimation changes with the exchange rate). Mt. Fuji also now has a 4000 yen hiking fee.
CORRECTION: The minimum I spent on housing should say $30 USD per night.
I’m 17 and I want to go to Japan multiple times. My first trip will be solo and I’m hoping to save up like 10k for a month stay. Currently, I want to go to tokyo, kyoto, osaka, akihabara, shibuya, fukuoka, and hokkaido. any tips for lodging, shinkansen pass purchasing, and the amount of time and money I would need to spend would be greatly appreciated. I would plan on eating out a lot and doing a lot of shopping for anime merch and whatever else
No offense, but that’s a very expensive budget. ππΌππ€·πΌββοΈπ€£ Somebody must make a lot of money or doesn’t spend it wisely….. Just saying. Hope you had fun though! I know I did when I was there! ππΌ Man, I can’t wait to go back…… π’
